Charlotte Russe Cake

This traditional European style cake is called a "Charlotte Russe", which was first created in Russia by Antoine Careme and named after a Czar's wife.  The cake is built in a mold lined with ladyfingers and filled with layers of chocolate cake and fruit flavored bavarian cream.  To finish the cake, it is usually topped with fresh fruit matching the flavor of the bavarian cream. The cake is wrapped with a red ribbon and the sides are garnished with red chocolate squares.
